The Petersham is privately owned and so we recognise that our staff make the biggest difference. We passionately believe in the consistency of service and whilst we appreciate that the individuality of the building may often be the reason that guests visit us, it’s ‘the team’ that ensures they return.
Here at The Petersham we really value our staff as we realise that they make all the difference when it comes to providing excellent customer service.
Greville Dare - Managing Director
Greville has been involved with The Petersham since his family acquired the hotel in 1978 and currently divides his time managing both this hotel and our sister hotel, The Elvetham. Alongside his family, Greville has instilled a family ethos into The Petersham and as a result has a dedicated team of loyal staff.
When away from The Petersham, Greville enjoys playing tennis and getting involved in motorsport. In and around Richmond, Greville also likes to attend the local Richmond theatres as well as watching England win at Twickenham!
Philip Warden - General Manager
Philip has been General Manager at The Petersham since 1998 and is responsible for the overall hotel operation, having built up a team of dedicated and caring staff over the years. Philip started his career in the pub trade, before moving into the luxury hotel market which brought him to Richmond.
When he is not working, Philip enjoys riding horses, wining and dining with friends and family and occasionally roller blading!
Deborah Barnes - Director of Sales
Deborah brings a wealth of experience in the hotel industry, having joined the team at The Petersham in early 2016 from Central London. As well as representing The Petersham, Deborah also represents our sister property in Hampshire.
Deborah is local to The Petersham and can often be found cycling along the Richmond towpath – last year she impressively completed the gruelling 54 mile London to Brighton cycle ride.
Mauro Malizia - Events and Reservations Manager
Mauro is originally from Rome, Italy and his career in hospitality has taken him across the globe. He has had hotel management experience in New York, Morocco, Greece, The Maldives and now Richmond.
Mauro now heads up the dedicated Events and Reservations team at The Petersham, having joined in March 2016.

Terence Filipe-O'Neill - Events Manager
Terence is originally from County Wicklow, Ireland and has spent much of his career in the hospitality industry travelling throughout Europe. He started at The Petersham in 2013 and takes great pride in helping organise many of the special events and weddings held at the hotel.
Outside of work, Terence takes competitive sport very seriously and once played hockey for the Irish national team.

Begona Waring - Head Housekeeper
Begona heads up a dedicated team of housekeepers and has been at The Petersham since 1992 ensuring that the hotel is kept at the highest of standards. Originally from Bilbao, Spain, she studied Tourism before travelling and settling in the UK.
Begona particularly enjoys walking and loves exploring the nearby Bushy Park on her days off, often walking the picturesque 5k circuit around the park.
Umit Eruyar - Restaurant Manager
Umit joined The Petersham in 2003 and has been looking after our restaurant guests since. Having started out in catering and hospitality in his home country of Turkey, Umit now has over 28 years of experience in the industry.
In his spare time Umit likes to dine at other restaurants, as well as enjoying cycling and football (having once played professionally himself!).

Ade Adeshina - Head Chef
Ade joined the team at The Petersham in 2014 and is an accomplished chef having worked alongside many top chefs during his career. After college, Ade worked under Gordon Ramsay for six years, including working at three-Michelin starred Gordon Ramsay Restaurant. Ade also worked at Petrus under Marcus Wareing and with Philip Howard at The Square and Eric Chavot at The Captial. In his spare time, Ade loves spending time with his family, sailing and travelling to new places - discovering different dishes and flavours.
